The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) (20 U.S.C. § 1232g; 34 CFR Part 99) is a Federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. The law applies to all schools that receive funds under an applicable program of the U.S. Department of Education.

Students and parents of minor students, have the right to inspect, review and challenge information contained in their educational records. Educational records are defined as files, materials and documents which contain information directly related to a student, which are maintained by the institution. Written consent is required before educational records may be disclosed to third parties, with the exception of accrediting commissions or government agencies authorized by law. Any inquiries or complaints regarding the above may be directed to the school management. See Catalog for additional information.
Definitions:
Customers are prospective students and students who apply to attend Cameo Beauty Academy, and apply for private or government grants or loans to finance their educations.

Cameo Beauty Academy is committed to implementing a comprehensive information security program, consistent with the size and complexity of this institution and the nature of its educational activities, to maintain and safeguard your nonpublic personal information against damage or loss. The policy covers all student records in whatever format (hard copy, electronic).
Kathy Harris shall be responsible to coordinate the school’s information security program. The coordinator shall, at least once every three years, assess foreseeable internal and external risks to the security, confidentiality, and integrity of customer information that could result in the unauthorized disclosure, misuse, alteration, destruction or other compromise of the information.

Records of students shall be maintained in accordance with federal and state law and accreditation requirements.
Students shall receive an initial notice of this policy at the time they submit a signed application for enrollment. All currently enrolled students shall receive an annual notice on July 1st each year.
Cameo Beauty Academy shall only enter into servicing agreements with service providers who also maintain appropriate safeguards for customer’s nonpublic personal information.
